Now that the BSR is done for the season, the remaining blogs will be rather short. They also may be more readable with less numbers and nerd stuff included, so I guess it’s a better situation for all of us.

Show Analysis

It’s clear that Matt’s father didn’t expect the conversation he ultimately had with Matt, but it was still hard for me to sympathize with him. He never really apologized for being unfaithful to his family and being absent when Matt needed him. I’m not sure how this was able to help Matt on his journey because he didn’t really get any closure with his father. Nevertheless, Matt did an amazing job trying to get whatever he could from his father without forcing anything.

It’s just good vibes all the time between Matt and Michelle. They were both equally nervous yet excited for the Pennsylvania Dutch spa. Their relationship is the most mature and therefore feels like it has the best chance for long-term success — if Matt proposes to Michelle at the end.

The amount of turtleneck worn by both Matt and Bri should suffice for engagement. Their relationship seems the most balanced and mutual, but it is lacking that next level of connection to put her above the other two contestants. I am convinced that Matt has Bri as his second favorite in many categories (i.e. maturity, compatibility, enjoyment) but never quite his favorite.

I’m surprised we don’t see more contestants feel similarly to Rachael during Fantasy Suites. This is the toughest challenge for any relationship on The Bachelor: putting your relationship on hold so that your partner can grow other relationships and sleep with other contestants a week before your potential engagement. Rachael came into the date really upset and sad, but her conversation with Matt brought enough words of affirmation to regain her confidence and enjoy the rest of the date. Matt admitted that he’s falling for Rachael, so she may not have to wait much longer for her engagement.

Bri handled her departure extremely well. She was very real with Matt when she told him “I can’t be upset and I can’t be angry, but I can be sad.” She didn’t burn any bridges and left as amicably as she could in that situation, and I hope things go well for her in the future.

Looking Ahead

Here is a comparison of the final two contestants on this season of The Bachelor.

Matt should choose Michelle, but something tells me it’s not going to be that simple. Regardless, I am looking forward to the moment I have been waiting for all season: when Matt becomes this gif.
